19th Biennial Mid States Cactus & Succulent Conference
June 26, 27, & 28, 2026
At the San Antonio Garden Center: Registration is Now Open...
Welcome to San Antonio and the 19th Biennial Mid-States Cactus and Succulent. Conference. We are happy to have you here in the Lone Star State. It’s an honor to be hosting this event. We trust you will have a fun and rewarding experience.
Our theme for this Conference is The Deserts of North America. There are four of the named deserts of this planet located somewhere in the western United States, two of which are shared with Mexico. Each one is different. Each one is magnificent in the diversity of flora and fauna they offer. And, each one is two time zones or less away from San Antonio. Anyone at this Conference can visit these deserts and explore them firsthand safely and affordably. You can experience the wonder, awe, and magnitude of the Desert Southwest without ever getting on an airplane. Therefore, the goal of the Conference is to embrace the jewels at our disposal, and to peak your interest in the possibility of exploring them yourself. You will see The Deserts of North America through the eyes of five speakers who have extensive experience with the amazing plants of the Mojave, the Great Basin, the Sonoran, and the Chihuahuan Deserts. In most cases, they live (or have lived) in those deserts and will share their understanding about and passion for these living wonders. There is much to see and do just at the Conference. Our city, San Antonio, also has much to offer. San Antonio was founded in 1718 and has grown to the be the 7th largest City in the US. Our history is rich and deep. At a minimum, make sure you get to Downtown and see the Alamo, the Hemisphere Tower, and the Riverwalk. We hope each of you enjoy your time here in San Antonio. I trust that the Conference meets your expectations.
The Conference is Sponsored by SACXS and the Texas Cactus Coalition.
